Cabin

Though I must go back from whence I came, I shall return in mind again To my little cabin in the woods Which over an emerald field stood. Though tomorrow may bring trouble And the busy world bring sorrow In memory I may find respite A campfire in a long, dark night.

Writing

So you want to write? Write. You have a story to tell? Tell it. Don’t be concerned if you tell it the best way it can be told. Don’t be concerned about fame or success. Be concerned about telling your story. That’s all that matters. And you can always tell it better later.

Challenges

Challenges in life – enjoy them. Dealing with difficult situations is like training for goodness. Like a weightlifter or runner enjoys the pain of training his body – so too enjoy the pain of training your goodness. When you overcome difficult things, you are growing better.

From Marcus Aurelius: “To erase false perceptions, tell yourself: I have it in me to keep my soul from evil, lust and all confusion. To see things as they are and treat them as they deserve. Don’t overlook this innate ability.”
