When things are difficult, I imagine that time is an ocean. I am as I am now, a child, and an old man all at once. All of the moments of my life surround me, and somewhere in this endless sea, I am happy.

I particularly like this. The idea that all the events of a person’s life are happening all at once on a timeline, so that a time-traveller could jump in at any place has always been an interesting one. But it’s taking it to the next level to say somewhere in time I am happy, so I can find comfort in the knowledge I will not always be as I am when down.
